UK vs Europe: think total cost
Take the quoted procedure price, then add travel, hotel, companion travel, insurance, time off work, aftercare, blood monitoring and a contingency for complications. That is the figure to compare.
What are you actually paying for?
In the UK, part of the premium is proximity, regulated hospital access, easier communication with the original surgical team and often longer aftercare. Overseas, the lower price can still represent excellent clinical value — but only when the aftercare and emergency plan are genuinely robust.
