- What are the surgeon's own leak, bleeding, readmission, reoperation and mortality figures?
- How many nights will I stay and when will a clinician decide I am safe to fly?
- Who provides specialist bariatric follow-up for at least two years?
- Who organises blood tests and acts on deficiencies after I return?
- What happens financially and clinically if I have a complication after returning to the UK?
- Will I receive my operative note, discharge summary and follow-up plan in English before travel home?
- What insurance or guarantee exists, exactly what does it cover, and what are the exclusions?
Do not assume the NHS becomes your routine aftercare package.
