Good to Talk · Life gets bloody hard · Free. Always.
Dads can struggle too
If you or someone else is in danger, call 999 or go to A&E. If you need urgent mental-health help but it is not an emergency, use NHS 111 online or call 111 and select the mental-health option.
Becoming a dad can be brilliant, exhausting, frightening and lonely — sometimes before breakfast.
Life changes fast
Sleep, finances, relationships, sex, freedom, identity and responsibility can all change. Men can experience significant mental-health difficulties around pregnancy, birth and early parenthood too.
You are allowed to say you're finding it hard
Supporting your partner and child does not require pretending you're fine. Talk to your partner, family, friends, GP or another professional if you're struggling.
Look after the relationship as well as the rota
When everybody is exhausted, conversations can become purely logistical. Small check-ins about how each of you is actually doing matter.
You're not the only one
