Foundayo in the UK: the daily GLP-1 pill without a fasting window
Foundayo is the brand name for orforglipron, an MHRA-authorised prescription GLP-1 tablet. It offers a different daily routine from the Wegovy pill, but convenience is only one part of a responsible treatment decision.

What changed in August 2026
On 10 August 2026 the MHRA authorised orforglipron, branded Foundayo, for weight management and type 2 diabetes in defined adult populations. The UK became the first country in Europe to authorise it.
That means older pages describing Foundayo as merely experimental or not UK-authorised are now stale. It does not mean automatic NHS access, universal suitability or that every advertised online product is legitimate.
How Foundayo differs from the Wegovy pill
Both are daily GLP-1 tablets, but they contain different active ingredients. Wegovy tablets contain semaglutide and require an overnight fast, a small amount of water and a wait before food or drink. Foundayo contains orforglipron and has a more flexible relationship with food and water.
The easier routine may matter to people who take other morning medicines, work shifts or struggle with fasting instructions. It does not make Foundayo clinically better for every individual.
Doses, evidence and expectations
Foundayo uses a staged dose-escalation route. The exact current strengths and product instructions must be checked against the authorised UK product information rather than copied from an older trial or another country's label.
Trial averages can describe what happened across a study population. They cannot predict an individual's result, and separate Foundayo, Wegovy and Mounjaro trials are not direct head-to-head comparisons.
Side effects and assessment
Gastrointestinal effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and constipation can occur with GLP-1 medicines. Suitability depends on medical history, current medicines, risks and the prescriber's assessment.
Use a regulated prescribing and pharmacy service. Do not buy products presented as weight-loss medicines through social media, gyms or unregulated sellers.
Price, private availability and NHS access

NHS use requires separate assessment through NICE and implementation decisions. 'MHRA-authorised', 'available privately' and 'available through the NHS' must never be treated as interchangeable statements.
