NHS England reported that visits to its high-blood-pressure information rose in 2025. This shows increased use of an information page; it does not measure how many additional people developed hypertension.
The announcement also pointed readers towards blood-pressure checks at pharmacies and the NHS Health Check. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, so feeling well is not a reliable substitute for measurement.
Two offers with different purposes
The NHS Health Check is a wider cardiovascular check for eligible adults aged 40–74 in England, generally offered every five years. It is different from a stand-alone blood-pressure measurement. Existing diagnoses can affect which route is appropriate.
When booking, ask which service you are receiving and whether you meet its eligibility rules. Tell the team about existing treatment or recent readings so that the appointment complements your care.
